2008-2011. Nevsky International Ecological Congress
In 2011 the Congress is held in the frames of implementation of the Plan of Actions dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Nevsky International Ecological Congress is held annually in St. Petersburg since 2008 and is a discussion platform for:
• inter-parliamentary cooperation in the field of ecological safety and harmonization of environmental legislation of the CIS member nations and the countries of the Council of Europe;
• dialogue and sharing of best practices of improving environmental efficiency of the CIS economies among representatives of public authorities, business communities, academia, research institutions and public organization;
• improvement of legislation in the field of environmental management and protection through legal regulation of fostering resource-saving, energy-efficient and low-waste technologies, deep processing of raw materials and waste;
• enhancing the role of environmental education and promotion of healthy lifestyles;
• shaping of an international agenda for ecological-safety-related policies in collaboration with the United Nations environmental bodies.
Mission of the Congress:
Promote development of an international ecological safety system.

Annual international congress.
